Standby passengers can't check through to a connection, upgrades aren't permitted, and you should carry a back-up ticket from your own airline. How to list for standby on Aegean Airlines
For e-tickets not issued through myIDTravel (myIDTravel issues only 390 stock), the listing is done at the airport, 2 hours before the flight.
Flights you can't use
All flights not operated by Aegean Airlines (A3) are excluded.
Visas and travel documents
Make sure you and your family have a valid passport and the right visas for your destination and for any scheduled stop on the way, in case you have to be off-loaded there. Without a valid passport or visa you may be denied boarding.
Baggage
Checked and cabin baggage rules are the same as on Aegeanair.com.
Check-in
Check-in procedures and times follow Aegeanair.com. Through check-in isn't available to standby (space available) passengers.
Boarding, seats and upgrades
- In line with industry practice, ZED passengers have lower priority than Aegean's paying passengers.
- Aegean's own staff have higher priority than staff of other airlines on ZED tickets.
- Seat requests aren't permitted on staff travel.
- Upgrades aren't permitted.
Special services, children and pets
- Special meals can't be pre-booked for rebate or standby passengers.
- Unaccompanied minors aren't permitted.
- No other special service requests are permitted on standby (space available) tickets.
Dress code
Dress according to the ZED rules. You won't be accepted on board in worn-out, dirty or torn clothes, beachwear, a jogging outfit or similar, and Aegean stations are obliged to refuse ID passengers who aren't properly dressed.
Changes and refunds
Aegean expects all interline employees and their eligible nominees to carry back-up tickets issued by their own airline.
