airBaltic staff travel & standby
Listing is mandatory on every airBaltic flight; if you buy your ticket in myIDTravel, it happens automatically. Check in at least 40 minutes before departure, and plan time to check in again at every stop, because through check-in isn't available on standby. Staff Airlines shows estimated open seats on airBaltic flights before you go.

How to list for standby on airBaltic
Listing is mandatory on all airBaltic flights.
- If you use myIDTravel, the listing is made automatically when you buy your ticket.
- If you don't use the myIDTravel portal and travel on paper tickets, list through the myIDTravel.com listing tool, at a local ticket office, or by email to [email protected]. In the email, give the employee's date of joining (DOJ), the names, routing, dates and your airline.
Flights you can't use
Codeshare flights not operated by airBaltic and charter flights are excluded.
Visas and travel documents
Getting a visa before you travel, if one is needed, is your responsibility; without it you can be denied boarding. On a trip with stopovers you may be off-loaded to free a seat for a commercial passenger, so carry the passport, visas and other documents you'd need for every country where you have a planned stop.
Baggage
- Economy: 1 checked piece, up to 20 kg.
- Business: 2 checked pieces, 30 kg.
- Cabin baggage: up to 8 kg.
Check-in
Check in on www.airbaltic.com or at a self-service kiosk, at least 40 minutes before departure. If you check in late, you may be refused on the flight.
airBaltic staff may use the FAST TRACK lane at security: ask for a stamp on your boarding pass at the check-in desk, or show your ID card at the security desk.
Through check-in isn't available to standby passengers. Leave enough time at every stop on the way to land and check in again.
Boarding, seats and upgrades
Standby passengers board according to the priority list, by airline and date of joining (DOJ). You must show your ID card.
- You can't request a seat on ID travel. A seat assigned at check-in may still be changed to make room for a commercial passenger.
- If there are no seats in your eligible cabin on the day, you're automatically considered for an upgrade to the higher cabin, depending on commercial and operational needs.
Special services, children and pets
- Special meals can't be pre-booked for ID passengers.
- Infant safety seats aren't provided on board for staff travellers.
- Children under 16 can travel on a standby ticket only with an adult holding a similar type of ticket.
Dress code
Dress in good taste: smart casual. Presentable jeans are accepted.
Changes and refunds
Buy all the tickets you're likely to need for the whole journey before you leave your base. Local stations aren't allowed to issue rebate tickets.
