How to list for standby on Cyprus Airways
A listing is required for all standby (subload) travel; without one you'll be denied check-in. Economy standby tickets and listings should be in booking class E.
Email [email protected] at least 48 hours before travel with:
- Itinerary (from / to).
- Flight number(s) or departure time.
- Date(s) of travel.
- Your employing airline.
- Your first name and surname.
- A contact, if different from the email address you write from.
- Ticket number.
- Passport details: number, date and country of issue, nationality, date of birth, gender, expiry date.
Your tickets must be issued by your own airline. Cyprus Airways can reissue tickets for other airlines' staff and make confirmed or standby reservations: contact [email protected]. An infant who takes their own seat is ticketed at the child fare.
Flights you can't use
- Flights sold under a Cyprus Airways (CY) number but operated by other airlines (CY 4000–CY 4999).
Only flights operated by Cyprus Airways are valid. There are no permanent embargoes.
Visas and travel documents
For international travel, every passenger needs a valid passport and the visas required for the destination. Cyprus Airways needs to see them before check-in.
Baggage
You get the same allowance as a paying passenger.
- Checked: 23 kg in Economy.
- Cabin: 1 piece, up to 10 kg and 55 × 40 × 20 cm.
- Children aged 2–12 get the same allowance as adults. Infants under 2 without their own seat get up to 10 kg and a stroller.
The free allowance doesn't cover any item over 203 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height), any item over 32 kg, or pets (PETC and AVIH).
All bags must be weighed at check-in, except things you need when boarding or on the flight: a coat, a handbag, an umbrella, a walking stick, some reading material, a bouquet of flowers, a briefcase, an infant carrier or pushchair, a wheelchair, or a suit in a suit carrier.
Check-in
Check in at the Economy class desk. Kiosks and online check-in aren't available to staff travelers. Check-in closes 40 minutes before the departure time on your ticket.
Without a confirmed reservation, you're accepted only if a seat is left after paying passengers and others entitled to a reserved seat.
Through check-in isn't available on standby. On a connecting trip, you and your bags are checked only as far as the first transfer airport, so leave enough time to land and check in again.
Boarding, seats and upgrades
Once accepted, be at the boarding gate at the time shown on your boarding pass.
Special services, children and pets
- No special services on standby.
- Special meals can't be pre-booked on standby.
- Children under 16 can't travel on a standby ticket without an adult.
