How to list for standby on Gulf Air
Listing is recommended for all space-available travel. To list, contact the nearest Gulf Air reservations office or the call centre. You must give a ticket number when you list.
Flights you can't use
- Codeshare flights under the GF code that Gulf Air doesn't operate.
- Charter flights.
Embargoes are set at Gulf Air's discretion and reviewed every year. The airline can change or apply embargo conditions at any time for operational reasons.
Visas and travel documents
Travelling with the right, valid visas and documents for every departure and arrival point is your responsibility. Without them you may be denied boarding.
Baggage
Baggage is on a piece-based allowance and is subject to Gulf Air's agreements, rules and conditions.
Check-in
Check in at the standby/staff desk if there is one, or at the Economy Class counter. Gulf Air's standard check-in policy is on www.gulfair.com.
Through check-in isn't available to interline standby staff.
Boarding, seats and upgrades
Interline standby staff can't request seats.
Special services, children and pets
Special meals aren't available to interline standby staff.
Dress code
You are expected to dress appropriately; if you don't, you may not be accepted for travel. Aim for a neat, clean, well-groomed look and modest, smart casual clothes that suit a professional setting.
Recommended:
- Collared shirts or blouses, tailored tops.
- Trousers or chinos, modest jeans without rips.
- Skirts or dresses at knee length or longer.
- Closed or smart shoes.
Not allowed:
- Shorts, short pants, and short, strapless or sleeveless dresses and tops.
- T-shirts with large graphics or bright, flashy prints; party wear or overly casual items.
- Ripped or torn denim.
- Flip-flops, slippers or casual beach sandals.
- Anything with offensive language, images or symbols.
Stay courteous, calm and respectful with airline and airport staff. Don't get into disputes or arguments: if a problem comes up, deal with it discreetly away from passengers or escalate it through the proper internal channels. Family members travelling with you are expected to behave professionally too.
Changes and refunds
Gulf Air expects every interline employee to carry a backup ticket.
Tickets can't be used out of sequence, and Gulf Air won't accept claims for problems this causes. To avoid trouble, buy one-way coupons.
