Check-in

On the day of travel, check in at the airport check-in or standby counter: that's where you choose your seat, drop your bags and get your boarding pass. Bring the valid ID you used to book the ticket.

Counter times vary by airport. Arrive 2 hours early for domestic flights; 3 hours is recommended for international flights. The local airport's deadline applies. Latest check-in times: globalpage.shenzhenair.com

Through check-in isn't available. Leave yourself enough time at every stop to land and check in again.

Boarding, seats and upgrades

  • When two or more airline employees are on the same flight, the time you checked in at your departure airport decides the order for boarding, offloading, upgrades and downgrades.
  • You can't request a seat. If the flight is open, the check-in agent may ask whether you'd like an aisle or a window, depending on availability.
  • A seat given to you at check-in can still be changed if paying passengers need it. If check-in staff, cabin crew or flight crew ask you to move, you must.
  • Don't ask any Shenzhen Airlines staff for an upgrade. If your cabin of eligibility is full on the day, you are automatically considered for the next cabin up, depending on commercial and operational needs and on meeting that cabin's dress code.

Special services, children and pets

  • Special meals can't be pre-booked. If you or anyone travelling with you needs a special diet, bring enough of your own food for the whole flight.
  • Infant safety seats can't be used on board on rebate tickets.
  • Children under 16 can travel on a rebate ticket only with an adult on the same type of rebate ticket.
  • No special services are available on standby travel.

Dress code

A dress code applies to rebate passengers, and you must dress for the cabin you are eligible for.

  • Sportswear, beachwear and other very casual clothes aren't accepted in any cabin.
  • Smart national dress or a company uniform is fine in every cabin.

Changes and refunds

Buy every ticket you and your nominees are likely to need for the whole journey before you leave home: local stations can't issue rebate tickets.

Good to know

  • All travel on Shenzhen Airlines must be on e-tickets.
  • Only Shenzhen Airlines employees are allowed in the flight deck.
  • Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. The airline can't offer free special arrangements if you are injured or fall ill while away, or if you lose money, documents or belongings.
