ANA staff travel & standby
If your airline uses myIDTravel, your ANA listing procedures and rules are in the ID Agreements in myIDTravel. The rest of this page is mainly about duty travel and operationally significant travellers or deadhead crew booked through IET: ANA has no ZED agreements via IET. Staff Airlines shows estimated open seats on ANA flights before you go.

How to list for standby on ANA
For listing procedures, see the ID Agreements in myIDTravel.
ANA (NH) has no ZED agreements via IET (Interline Electronic Ticketing). IET on NH is used for duty travel and for operationally significant travellers (OST) and deadhead crew (DH).
Booking duty and OST/DH travel:
- Advance booking period: 90 days before departure on international flights, 60 days on Japan domestic flights.
- Tickets are valid for 90 days from the date of issue.
- Booking elements are set by the Interline Staff Travel Agreement between your airline and NH.
- Waitlisting is allowed on international flights but not on Japan domestic flights. A domestic ticket in RQ (waitlist) status doesn't guarantee boarding and may lead to denied boarding.
Economy booking class: for all travel departing on or after May 19, 2026, Economy on every NH flight is booked in RBD X. On Japan domestic flights this replaced N; international flights already used X. IET users must make all Economy bookings in RBD X: bookings or tickets in any other RBD may be rejected at the airport. myIDTravel users should follow the ID Agreement between their airline and NH, as procedures may differ.
Flights you can't use
Included are NH-designated flights operated by NH, NQ (Air Japan) or EH (ANA Wings). Codeshare flights operated by other carriers are excluded.
No embargoes are planned on international flights unless specified. Japan domestic flights are embargoed in these peak periods:
- April 25 – May 10
- August 1 – August 20
- December 23 – January 10
- March 20 – March 31
Visas and travel documents
Check and complete all travel documents and entry requirements before you get to the airport. You can only board if you meet every requirement of your destination.

Airport check-in:
Through check-in of you and your bags may be possible on confirmed bookings in the same reservation and on the same ticket, as long as all other conditions are met.
Special services, children and pets
Travellers under 16 can't travel alone under the Interline Staff Travel Agreement. They must fly with an adult holding the same type of ticket.
Dress code
Employees and family members should wear modest, business casual clothes. Very casual or revealing clothes may get you denied boarding. Examples of what not to wear:
- casual jeans (damaged or washed)
- shorts, very short miniskirts, trousers with torn designs
- provocative, tight-fitting or revealing clothes
- clothes with offensive pictures or words
- tank tops, sweatshirts, see-through clothing
- flip-flops, clogs (geta)
Don't disrupt operations or inconvenience ANA's commercial passengers, and don't distract airport staff or flight attendants from serving them. Commercial passengers always come first for seats, meals and service.
You answer for your own conduct and that of your registered travel nominees. Any breach may be formally reported to your employer, and details of misconduct are sent to your Interline Manager for investigation and action.
Good to know
ZED, MIBA and ID tickets are special fares under Interline Staff Travel Agreements. On them you don't get standard commercial benefits: including frequent flyer perks, lounge access and advance seat selection.
