How to list for standby on Ethiopian Airlines
Unless you travel as a positive passenger, you are listed on a standby basis.
- Contact the local Ethiopian office at your boarding point in advance to get listed. Call centre contacts worldwide: ethiopianairlines.com
- List at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure.
- Give your name as on the ticket, the ticket classification or pass type, and your seniority date.
- Some countries require advance passenger information, so include your passport number, issuing country and date, expiry date, nationality and date of birth.
Visas and travel documents
Securing your staff ID, passport, visas, health and other documents for every part of the trip is your job. Ethiopian takes no responsibility for missing or invalid documents, and any fine it gets because of them is passed on to you.
Baggage
- Cabin bags: same as a paying passenger (2 pieces of up to 8 kg each in C-9, or 1 piece up to 7 kg in Economy, each no bigger than 23 × 40 × 55 cm).
- Excess baggage has no staff discount; the regular passenger rules apply.
- On standby, your bags are tagged only to your first destination.
