Norse Atlantic Airways staff travel & standby

IATA N0ICAO NBTNorway ›

To find Norse flights in myIDTravel, you must select "Norse" in the airline drop-down: they don't show up in an all-airlines search. Check-in is only at the airport counter, and if you want BizPremium you need two bookings, one in BizPremium and one in Economy. Staff Airlines shows estimated open seats on Norse Atlantic Airways flights before you go.

How to list for standby on Norse Atlantic Airways

Norse doesn't use a global distribution system (GDS), so its flights don't appear in a general city-pair search with the airline left blank or "all airlines" selected.

  1. Check availability on your dates first on www.FlyNorse.com. The route map is at flynorse.com
  2. In myIDTravel, select "Norse" from the airline drop-down menu to see its flights.

BizPremium: Norse's day-of-departure system, GoNow, can't downgrade you from BizPremium to Economy. If your agreement includes BizPremium and you want to fly in it:

  1. Make two identical bookings, one in BizPremium and one in Economy. To book BizPremium, select "Business" in myIDTravel or ID90 Travel.
  2. At the check-in desk, tell the agent you're a staff traveler with two bookings. You'll be checked in on the BizPremium booking if BizPremium seats are free when check-in closes (1 hour before departure).
  3. Once you have your boarding card, cancel the unused booking on the platform where you made it, ID90 Travel or myIDTravel.

If you turn up with only a BizPremium booking and BizPremium is full, the airport staff can't put you in Economy, and you may be left behind even if there are empty seats.

Flights you can't use

  • All regularly scheduled Norse Atlantic Airways flights sold on FlyNorse.com can be used.
  • Flights not found on FlyNorse.com are excluded.
  • There are no embargoes in place.

Visas and travel documents

Making sure you have the right visa to enter or transit each country is your responsibility. It depends on your citizenship and/or residence, and each country's foreign travel guidelines have the details. If you're visiting the United States, Norse recommends checking the US ESTA application.

  • Connecting to or from another flight: make sure you have the right to enter the transit country. You usually have to enter with your checked bags and go back through security. Some airports, such as OSL, let you transfer inside the secure zone if you have no checked bags; others, such as LGW, don't.
  • Non-US citizens or residents flying to the US must be able to show US Immigration proof of a return flight on arrival, or may be refused entry.

Baggage

Every staff travel ticket, Economy and BizPremium, includes:

  • 1 personal item: 40 x 30 x 15 cm / 15.5 x 11.5 x 5.5 in, no weight limit
  • 1 carry-on: 56 x 45 x 25 cm / 22 x 18 x 10 in, up to 10kg / 22lbs
  • 1 checked bag: up to 158cm / 62 in (height + width + length), up to 23kg / 50lbs

Norse's baggage rules are stricter than other airlines'.

  • For extra or oversize bags, you can get a staff traveler discount by emailing [email protected] at least 72 hours before departure.
  • At the airport, if you go over the allowance in weight, pieces or both, you pay the same excess charges as paying passengers (see the Norse service fees page).
  • If you think you were charged wrongly, don't argue with ground staff: write to [email protected]

Check-in

  • Online check-in isn't available. Check in at the ticket counter only.
  • At most airports, check-in opens four hours before scheduled departure. Be at the counter at least 75 minutes before your flight.
  • Check-in closes 60 minutes before scheduled departure. Agents may clear standby passengers before that.
  • Don't use the Priority/BizPremium desk unless you've bought Priority Check-in.
  • Once you have a boarding card with a seat number, go straight to the gate.

Boarding, seats and upgrades

  • Pre-boarding: for staff travelers with a disability who say they need extra time or help to board, stow accessibility equipment or sit down.
  • Priority Boarding: for staff travelers seated in BizPremium, or who bought Priority Boarding on FlyNorse.com.
  • Staff travelers with young children can also board early.

Special services, children and pets

Meals

  • Pre-order meals on FlyNorse.com at least 24 hours before departure. You can order the same meals as paying passengers, special meals included, at the same price: there's no staff discount on meals. You can also bring your own food.
  • You get 20% off Cafe (food and drink) and Boutique (duty free) purchases, except alcohol and tobacco. Show your airline ID discreetly to the cabin crew to ask for it.

Assistance

  • For help at the airport, mobility-related or not, log in with your booking number on FlyNorse.com and use the "Special assistance" section.
  • Bringing your own wheelchair or scooter? Tell Norse in advance in the same "Special assistance" section.
  • Send any other special service request to [email protected] after you've booked. Requests without a booking can't be handled.

Children

  • Norse doesn't accept unaccompanied minors. The minimum age to travel alone is 16.
  • For help linking an adult booking with a child booking, email [email protected]

Animals

  • Pets, emotional support animals, comfort animals, companionship animals and service animals in training aren't allowed.
  • Service dogs (guide or assist dogs) are accepted with advance notice and must travel in the cabin with their owner. Fill in two U.S. DOT forms: one about the dog's health, behavior and training, and one confirming it either won't relieve itself or can do so in a sanitary way.
  • Let Norse Customer Service know in advance via FlyNorse.com if you or an eligible traveler are bringing a service dog.

Dress code

Dress "smart casual" or better.

  • You can't board in airline uniform unless you're commuting straight to or from a flight you operate. Where possible, remove or cover insignias and symbols that show you work for an airline.
  • Don't wear your airline ID while staff traveling. You may show it discreetly, in your hand, when using Priority Boarding, introducing yourself to the working crew or asking for a Cafe or Boutique discount.

Changes and refunds

  • Request refunds for fully or partly unused bookings on the platform where you made the listing, ID90 Travel or myIDTravel.
  • Norse is ticketless, so there's no ticket number. A cancelled booking is refunded automatically: no separate "cancel, then refund" step.
  • If the platform won't let you cancel an unflown booking and at least 72 hours have passed since its departure date, Norse accepts the request by email.
  • Refunds for extras (ancillary items): [email protected]
