Online check-in isn't possible on standby, so check in at the airport, in MCT there is a dedicated Staff Travel counter, and remember that code-share flights are excluded and upgrades aren't allowed. How to list for standby on Oman Air
List and ticket in myID: no other channel is used.
Flights you can't use
Code-share flights.
Visas and travel documents
- Basic API details are collected when your ticket is issued.
- On standby, you need valid documents for the transit point too, if your trip has one.
Baggage
- Checked baggage: 1 piece, up to 23 kg in Y or up to 32 kg in C.
- Cabin baggage: as set out on www.omanair.com.
Check-in
Online check-in isn't possible on standby. Go to the regular check-in for your class of travel. In MCT, use the dedicated Staff Travel counter instead. Check-in times are on www.omanair.com.
Through check-in: your bags are tagged to your final WY or OA destination, but as a standby passenger you must go to the Transfer Desk in MCT to get your boarding pass for the next flight.
Boarding, seats and upgrades
Boarding order:
- Oman Air (WY) employees and retirees.
- Employees and retirees of oneworld carriers.
- Employees and retirees of other carriers.
Upgrades aren't allowed.
Special services, children and pets
- Special meals can't be requested on standby.
- Unaccompanied minors can't travel on standby.
Dress code
The ZED dress rules apply. Oman Air stations must refuse ID passengers who aren't properly dressed: worn-out, dirty or torn clothes, beachwear, jogging outfits and similar aren't accepted on the flight.
