Emirates staff travel & standby
Every standby passenger on Emirates must be listed before departure: through myIDTravel if Emirates issued your ticket there, or through the Emirates Listing Application otherwise. Contact centres and airport desks don't make listings, through check-in isn't available on standby, and you're expected to carry a back-up ticket from your own airline. Staff Airlines shows estimated open seats on Emirates flights before you go.

How to list for standby on Emirates
You must have a listing before departure. Emirates contact centres and airport check-in desks don't handle listings.
- If your ticket was issued by Emirates (176 document) through myIDTravel, list on myIDTravel as well.
- All other interline staff list in the Emirates Listing Application. Your Staff Travel office gives you its URL and your user name and password.
To list in the Listing Application:
- Log in and fill in the required details.
- Submit the listing request.
- Once you are listed, you receive a listed PNR and a revalidated ticket by email.
Make sure your computer has no pop-up blockers or firewall settings that could stop you from logging in. Your listing is only started or completed if your IET is issued to the ZEDMIBA SBY IET standards.
If the Listing Application isn't working, email your listing request to [email protected] 48 hours before travel. Note that the Emirates weekend is Saturday–Sunday. Include:
- Passenger names, ticket number, flights, dates and sectors.
- Your employee ID, date of hire and a contact phone number.
- Dates of birth for children and infants.
- Where TSA rules apply: passport number, nationality, place of issue and expiry date.
Flights you can't use
- Emirates flight series 2000–2999, 4000–7999 and 9000–9999.
- Any flight not operated by Emirates.
Baggage
- Economy: 1 piece, 20 kg.
- Business: 1 piece, 30 kg.
For cabin baggage dimensions, see www.emirates.com.
Check-in
Emirates currently has no self-service check-in kiosks for interline staff. Your check-in time is shown on your ETReceipt: on tickets issued via myIDTravel, or once the Listing Application has revalidated your ticket. General check-in information is on www.emirates.com.
Through check-in isn't available to interline standby staff.
Boarding, seats and upgrades
Interline standby staff can't request seats. On a firm (bookable) ticket, you can choose a seat with the 'Manage Booking' option on emiratesstaff.com.
Special services, children and pets
- Special services and special meals aren't available to interline standby staff.
- On a firm (bookable) ticket, ask your staff travel centre to request a special meal with the right entries.
- Unaccompanied minors aren't accepted on interline staff tickets. Dependents can travel alone only if they are over 16.
Dress code
Dress according to the ZED rules.
Changes and refunds
Emirates expects every interline employee to carry back-up tickets issued by their own airline. Emirates doesn't issue ZED tickets for interline staff; its myIDTravel partner airlines can buy them only through myIDTravel portals.
Good to know
Multi-Risk Travel insurance doesn't apply to ZED tickets. Aircraft configurations are on www.emirates.com.
How to fly standby on Emirates
- Check loads before you list
Every standby passenger on Emirates must be listed before departure. Compare estimated open seats in Staff Airlines for the flights you're considering, then list on the best one in myIDTravel or the Emirates Listing Application.
- Keep your back-up ticket
Emirates expects you to carry a back-up ticket from your own airline. Emirates flights connect in Dubai: if your onward flight there fills up, look at a later departure from Dubai or another routing in the Transfer route finder (Premium).
- Ask an agent before you go
Before you leave for the airport, ask an agent in Staff Airlines to check your flight. Agents are airline staff who can see flight loads: when one answers, you see open seats by cabin as they are right now. Requests use tokens; Premium includes them.
- On the day
Your check-in time is on your ETReceipt, and through check-in isn't available on standby. With Premium, subscribe to the flight in Staff Airlines for regular status updates.

Questions, answered

What if the Emirates Listing Application isn't working?
Email your listing request to [email protected] 48 hours before travel, with names, ticket number, flights, dates, sectors, employee ID, date of hire and a phone number.
How much baggage can I check on Emirates?
One piece of 20 kg in Economy or one piece of 30 kg in Business.
Can I check through to my connection on Emirates standby?
No. Through check-in isn't available to interline standby staff.
Do I need a back-up ticket to fly Emirates standby?
Yes. Emirates expects interline employees to carry back-up tickets issued by their own airline.
Which airlines can I fly on ZED fares?
It depends on the ZED and interline agreements of the airline you work for. In Staff Airlines, the partner airlines filter shows only the flights you can board.
