To fly standby on Discover Airlines, you book and list in myIDTravel: no other channel is accepted. Standby passengers can't get special services, and through check-in to a connection isn't always possible, so allow time to check in again at each stop. How to list for standby on Discover Airlines
Booking and listing are mandatory and are done only in myIDTravel.
Children under 16 can fly on a staff ticket only together with an adult on the same type of discounted ticket.
Flights you can't use
- Trains, buses and charter services sold under a Discover (4Y) flight number.
- Any flight on the embargo list.
Visas and travel documents
It's up to you to get your passport, visas and vaccination certificates and to check they are valid before you set off. Discover Airlines takes no responsibility for missing or invalid documents, and if the airline is fined because of them, the fine is passed on to you. Baggage
You get the same allowance as a full-fare passenger, but your bags travel only if there is space and the flight's weight limits allow it.
- Cabin bag in Economy and Premium Economy: 1 piece, up to 55 × 40 × 23 cm and 8 kg.
- Cabin bags in Business: 2 pieces, each up to 55 × 40 × 23 cm and 8 kg.
- Excess baggage follows the normal full-fare rules and must be paid in full at standard rates. Details are on the baggage page of discover-airlines.com.
- Don't check in anything on behalf of someone else.
Check-in
Check-in times depend on the departure airport: look them up on lh.com.
Through check-in to your connection works for confirmed ZED and MIBA tickets. On standby it is sometimes not possible, so leave enough time at every stop to land and check in again.
Special services, children and pets
- Standby passengers can't get special services.
- On confirmed tickets, services such as a wheelchair or a pet in the cabin (PETC) must be requested in the booking and confirmed by Discover Airlines. For pets, see the Traveling with pets page on discover-airlines.com.
Dress code
Your appearance and behavior must follow Discover Airlines' policy. Dress to public standards of good taste, don't inconvenience paying passengers, and don't distract ground staff and cabin crew from serving them. If you don't follow these rules, you can be refused travel.
