Air North staff travel & standby

List through your airline's pass bureau or travel department, or in myIDTravel.

Air North uses two reservation systems, so your confirmation number may not match: bookings made in myIDTravel have 6 digits, others may have 8.

If your airline has a reciprocal confirmed-travel agreement with Air North, you can book R1 (confirmed) travel in myIDTravel:

• Book at least 24 hours before departure.
• Confirmed seats depend on available inventory. If there are none, myIDTravel shows a booking error and no price: don't rely on the smiley.
• To choose a seat on a JET flight, call the Air North call centre at +1 867.668.2228. Seat assignment costs $15 CAD + tax per seat.

Every passenger, revenue or non-revenue, needs government-issued identification to fly Air North. You don't need airline ID.

• Carry-on: 1 piece, standard IATA dimensions, up to 10 kg.
• Checked on JET flights: 2 bags, each up to 23 kg.
• Checked on ATR flights: 2 bags, each up to 10 kg.
• No single bag may weigh more than 32 kg.
• Anything over the free allowance costs $30 CAD + taxes.

Your bags fly only if there is space.

Check in at the Air North ticket counter at least 60 minutes before departure. Online check-in isn't offered to non-revenue travelers.

After check-in, take off your lanyard and airline ID.

Not every standby traveler gets on. If there is room, the gate agent clears you and gives you a seat in order of check-in time. If you don't clear, the team will try to help.

• Be at the gate at least 30 minutes before departure: flights can leave early.
• If your party isn't seated together, don't ask paying passengers to swap seats.

• Unaccompanied minors aren't accepted on ZED tickets. Children must be 12 to fly without an adult.
• Pets travel under Air North's current Pets & Jets policy.

Air North follows Dress to Impress: business casual, clean and in good taste. T-shirts, flip-flops and other relaxed clothing aren't recommended. Staff may ask you or the people traveling with you to change if you don't meet the standard.

On board, blend in with the paying passengers: keep lanyards and IDs out of sight (unless you're an additional crew member or jumpseater) and don't talk about airline business.

Make all changes to your listing in myIDTravel.

• Confirmed (R1) travelers must cancel or change before departure, otherwise a no-show penalty applies.
• Refunds start once you cancel the listing in myIDTravel and can take up to 14 days.

The free onboard meal and the cookies or cheesecake are yours too, if supplies allow. Alcoholic drinks cost $5 CAD each and aren't free for airline staff or their eligibles. Bring cash: cards aren't accepted on board.
