How to list for standby on Air Tindi
All non-revenue listings must be made in myIDTravel. Only you, your eligible dependents and travel companions who are set up in myIDTravel can fly standby: companions only if your airline's agreement includes them. If you have trouble getting into myIDTravel, ask your own airline's travel office for help.
- In myIDTravel, select Air Tindi (8T) as the airline before you search for a flight.
- Choose your flight and complete the purchase.
- You receive a four-character booking reference. Keep it with you when you travel: Air Tindi is ticketless, so you don't get a ticket number.
If you get a listing error, email [email protected] with a screenshot of the error, the traveller's name, travel dates, routes and the exact error message.
Flights you can't use
Air Tindi currently has an embargo on myIDTravel bookings because of a move to a new system. Bookings under airline agreements can still be made manually in the meantime: send your request to [email protected].
Only scheduled Air Tindi flights are open to non-revenue travellers. Charters and other non-scheduled flights aren't.
Baggage
- Your allowance is 50 lb.
- Overweight, oversize or excess bags are charged the standard baggage fees and travel only if payload allows once all paying guests' bags are on board.
- Non-revenue baggage is carried without liability for loss or damage. If a bag is lost, airport staff will do their best to find it and make it available for pickup as soon as possible.
Check-in
Check in for boarding at the Air Tindi passenger terminal, 107 Berry Street, Yellowknife NT, 1 hour before departure. If loads allow, you may be cleared well before departure; on a full flight you may have to wait until check-in closes. Baggage cut-off times are the same for you as for paying guests.
Special services, children and pets
- Lap infants can't be booked in myIDTravel. Tell the airport staff at check-in and be ready to show proof of age.
- There is no way to list an infant in their own seat. If enough seats are free, airport staff will try, on request, to give an adult with an infant an empty seat next to them, but paying guests won't be asked to move.
- Pets and service animals: tell [email protected] when you book. Pets must travel in an airline-approved crate.
- Children aged 0 days to 11 years must travel with a ticketed passenger aged 16 or older for the whole trip.
Dress code
Business casual. Jeans are acceptable.
Paying guests always come first, and any behaviour that spoils their experience is unacceptable and can lead to denied transportation. As the employee, you are responsible for how your dependents and travel companions behave, so make sure anyone travelling without you knows Air Tindi's rules. Violations are reported to your airline, and Air Tindi can refuse you future travel.
Changes and refunds
- To change a booking, email [email protected] at least 48 hours ahead; the change is made manually.
- To change at shorter notice, request a refund through [email protected] and book the flight you want again.
- Refunds are processed manually and take 5–7 business days. Email [email protected] with your full name, booking number, travel date and a contact number in case payment details are needed.
- All non-revenue refunds go back to the original credit card.
